‘Sorry, Kids’: Orlando Named Porn Capital Of America By Men’s Health

The new list says the home of Mickey Mouse and Disney family values is, in fact, the smuttiest city in America.

Orlando, Florida — home of Mickey Mouse and a favorite destination for wholesome family vacations — recently received a rather dubious honor: it’s officially the Porn Capital of America, according to the Men’s Health.

The magazine made the list based on the following factors: the number of DVDs purchased, rented, or streamed (AdultDVDEmpire.com); adult entertainment stores per city (StorErotica.net); rate of porn searches (Google Insights); and, for fans of soft-core, percentage of Cinemax-subscribing households (SimplyMap).

According to Men’s Health magazine, the home of G-rated theme parks is X-rated when you leave Fantasyland.

That means that while Snow White, L.A. is the capital of pornographic film production, Orlando is the capital of porn film consumption.

And Orlando wasn’t the only Sunshine State city to enjoy a high smutty ranking, reports The Huff Post.

Nearby Tampa came in at number eight and notoriously salacious Miami fell just outside of the top ten at number 12, making Florida the most salacious state.

Orlando is even smuttier than Sin City itself, according to the list, reports CBS Miami. Las Vegas took second.

And the none-too-saintly New York and Los Angeles didn’t even make the top fifty. Moreover, Orlando has been slowly pushing out Los Angeles as ground zero for porn production.

“Amateur” companies like Bang Bros and Reality Kings call the 305 home and adult films are even filmed on public land and onboard public buses.

Men’s Health writes that due to the access to high-speed Internet, a pornucopia of X-rated flicks is a few clicks away — unless your city is listed here with an asterisk.

These places actually fall into Adult DVD Empire’s no-stream category, a restriction companies put in place to avoid being charged with violating community standards.

However, these standards were meant only for mail-order porn, says obscenity law attorney Jeffrey J. Douglas, and shouldn’t apply online.

At the other end of the scale, Mississippi capital Jackson was named the city with the smallest appetite for adult entertainment.

It was followed by Baton Rouge in Louisiana, Winston-Salem in North Carolina, Charleston in West Virginia and Lubbock in Texas.

The internet is the biggest source of pornographic material, an industry that pulls in $4.9 billion per year worldwide, according to research conducted by the online Master of Business Administration.

A recent study found that eight out of ten men looked at porn on the internet – compared to one-third of women, with men spending an average of two hours a week watching pornography on internet, compared with just 15 minutes for women.

And men spend up to 80 per cent more time than women looking at X-rated content on the web. Coincidentally, an earlier survey in Men’s Health’s November 2011 edition, found Orlando to be America’s 19th unhappiest city.
