According to 9to5mac which came across a shipping document on a Chinese Web site, Foxconn has started shipping the highly anticipated iPad 3 ahead of Apple’s official unveiling of the tablet in March.
Highlighted by Apple.pro, the document was uploaded to Sina Weibo. The source seems to be from WeiPhone forums. The document states that Foxconn is sending units of the device to major USA cities.
“Chengdu International Airport at major international cargo charter flights, cargo owners demanding security, from CTU takeoff by stop PVG Shanghai, and then directly to ORD Chicago, the JFK New York, LAX in Los Angeles, March 9, completed before transport,” was written in the document.
9to5mac has also released a picture of the tablet being uploaded onto a plane.
A week before Apple’s anticipated official unveiled the iPad 3, a Chinese blog claims to have leaked pictures of the next-generation tablet.
On the unconfirmed pictures the iPad 3 looks much like its predecessor, the iPad 2. The pictures show the tapered back of the tablet and parts of its apparent inner mechanisms.
The Chinese blog also added that an Apple A6 chip was discovered, which is the prime rumored processor of the iPad 3. The addition piece of information claims the new iPad will come with 4G connectivity as opposed to 3G found in the iPad 2.
As Slash Gear writes, the device will come with a better display than the previous model has. The reason for it is critics of iPad 2 owners for the devices’ 1024×768 resolution and unclear fuzzy images. So the new display is reported to boast an HD display panel with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels.
One more change is much-improved camera matching the quality of the 8MP camera of the iPhone 4s or even better. The phone has come a larger custom lens that heralded a 2.4 aperture. More, the camera boasts advanced color accuracy, face detection and reduced motion blur.
One more update is Siri, the intelligent personal assistant that allows users to do things, such as set reminders, send messages and more with the help of their own voices.
iPad Clues says that the battery of the iPad 3 has also underwent some changes. It will be lighter in order to decrease the overall weight of the iPad. The battery life is going to be longer though. What is more, the device is expected to come with wireless charging, and would also allow wireless data transfer.
Apple has already been granted patents on fingerprint proof technology, and the designers are working real hard to inbuilt it to iPad 3. The touch screen is reported to be coated with oleophobic materials, which will reduce the oil and fingerprints on the screen.
The price and release date for the new iPad 3 haven’t been announced Apple officials. The tablet is being eagerly awaited for by the whole world as Apple has proven to live up to its standards before, it will surely continue the tradition with the iPad 3.
