Former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld persuaded 12 of the world’s famous models to pose with the quirky hosiery for a pin-up-inspired calendar for VMAN magazine, says The Sun. Among the beauties were supermodels Miranda Kerr, 28, and Adriana Lima, 30 – who are in the lingerie giant’s stable.

“Miranda, titled as Miss April in the shoot, wears a pair of tights over her face as a kind of veil, creating an ethereal look. Her fellow Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima looked equally as striking in a low cut black bra, black hot pants and sheer gloves,” says the Daily Mail.

“They are just two of 12 stunning models featured in the calendar for the magazine, this month guest edited by Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris.”

As for Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio, they are stick to more subdued tones for their shots, with Swanepoel wearing white accessories next to her personalised pink satin jacket. Ambrosio, meanwhile, wears a push up grey bra and matching shoes.

Joining them in the pages are models Karolina Kurkova, Ana Beatriz Barros and Izabel Goulart, with Sports Illustrated model Anne V decked out in cream.

Carine Roitfeld’s new calendar shows the supermodels in striking underwear and matching tights. In an interview with the magazine’s Derek Blasberg, Roitfeld said Victoria’s Secret’s angels were in the first place when was looking for “beautiful girls.”

The rumors that Carine Roitfeld intends to launch her own magazine have been spreading since she left Vogue Paris. In the meanwhile, she has styled an ad campaign for Barneys, compiled a book and edited a 72 page Elizabeth Taylor-themed editorial for V Magazine, says the Huff Post.

“To realize my issue, I imagined organizing the perfect dinner party. I started with the photographers, invitingsome old friends like Bruce Weber and Peter Lindbergh, who I’ve known for years, and [Jean-Baptiste] Monidino, who I have always admired but haven’t worked with in twenty years,” Roitfeld told reporters.

“And then I asked some new people too, like Nick Knight. It was my big dream to do something with Nick because we had never worked together before. Michael Avedon is a new talent too. I was happy to find him: He is the grandson of Richard Avedon, who we all know, but he has an interesting eye that is his own.”

Earlier this year Carine Roitfeld revealed that if she didn’t work in fashion, she’d be a dancer: “I love ballet because you can see how beautiful the body is. It’s similar to my interest in fashion, except with fashion there are clothes,” she told reporters.

“I think that ballet is very good for the body. It’s very similar to yoga, because you have to hold a position. I did a lot of yoga, but now I’ve stopped yoga and I’m just doing ballet, maybe because I love the music of ballet, the piano. I love piano music, it reminds me of being in the Russian school of ballet, and I love that. I love listening to the piano while I am doing my ballet. If I could choose something besides fashion, I would love to be a ballerina.”

The calendar — shot by Willy Vanderperre — is to go on sale with the magazine’s 25th issue on February 14.
