Demi Moore Hospitalized ‘To Treat Exhaustion’

Actress Demi Moore is seeking professional help to treat “exhaustion” and “overall health” issues, her spokeswoman said on Tuesday, following her split late last year from husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher.

There are currently two conflicting reports surrounding the specific illness that caused Moore’s brief hospitalization. According to TMZ, Moore was taken to the hospital to be treated for substance abuse; People magazine, however, describes the cause of the illness as exhaustion.

“Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health,” said one of Moore’s representatives in a statement to Moviefone.

“She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.” The rep added that there was no further information available at present time.

The 49-year-old actress, who has appeared increasingly frail in recent weeks, was taken to hospital by ambulance following a call to 911 just before 11pm last night, reports Daily Mail.

A 911 call was placed at 10:45pm last night which resulted in an ambulance taking the star to hospital.

The mother-of-three was with a female friend when she allegedly began shaking, it has been reported.

According Daily Mail, the actress was ‘acting like she was suffering from a seizure.’

“Ghost” star Moore, 49, filed for divorce from 33-year-old “Two and A Half Men” actor Kutcher in November 2011, after a San Diego woman went public about a brief fling she had with Kutcher.

Since then Demi has been spotted looking worryingly thin, and spoke earlier this month about her worries following the split, according to Mirror.

“What scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that Im really not loveable, that I’m not worthy of being loved. That there’s something fundamentally wrong with me,” she said.

Meanwhile Ashton has been out at various events and has been papped looking close to co-star Lea Michele. He has however been spotted wearing his wedding ring again recently, despite previously taking it off.

He was seen enjoying a beer with friends at a Bruno Mars concert, oblivious to the drama his wife is now embroiled in.

The Two And A Half Men star is also said to have moved on following the breakdown of his marriage to Demi.

Earlier this month, Moore was back in the spotlight, but this time for positive news: It was announced that she had signed on to play feminist icon Gloria Steinem in “Lovelace,” one of two upcoming biopics about adult-film star Linda Lovelace, MTV reports.

Unfortunately, Demi Moore, following her hospitalization Tuesday night, has dropped out of the film “Lovelace.”

Moore’s celebrity friend Eva Longoria has joined a great number messages of support on Twitter.

“Sending my love and support to one of the most beautiful people i know @mrskutcher’ said Eva, who has known the actress for a number of years.

The huge amount of support that Demi has received on Twitter is unsurprising given her prominent presence on the site.

Demi has 4,568, 656 followers and she and Ashton would often post pictures on Twitter during their relationship.
