Karlie Kloss, 19-year-old model, who is considered to be ‘New Body’ in the fashion world, has striped for the latest issue Vogue Italia, showing off her awesome body.
Top fashion photographer Steven Meisel shot Kloss for the December issue of Vogue Italia. Some critics are calling the footage sexy but disturbing because of the model’s thin body.
Vogue Italia showed some of the shots thinking that Kloss looked so thin that readers might think the magazine could be accused of photoshopping the image. But it’s likely all Karlie.
Steven Meisel shot the model with simple grey and super white backgrounds. The images are high fashion at its finest and Kloss works the camera like a twenty year pro.
Kloss provides new meaning to the term zero body fat. She is muscle and skin woman in an 18-page spread, styled by fashion editor Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele. The fashion star was dubbed the new “body” hails from Chicago and attributes her thin build to growing up athletic.
The model, who took part in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for the first time last month, is being often discussed on the point of her athletic lifestyle and dancer’s background.
The supermodel was born in Chicago, and her family moved to St. Louis in 1995. Before becoming a model, Kloss studied at Caston’s Ballet Academy in 2002, a prestigious dance academy. Soon she became very talented at dance, and was in a number of performances such as the Nutcracker.
Kloss called her classical ballet background “a beautiful thing” that taught her how to move in the world of fashion and was a great training ground for her runway walk. Shestarted her career when she was 14, having signed with Elite Management in 2007.
Now she is 19-years-old, and not long time ago, her work has become a little more, well, grown-up. And in modeling, that means just one point: Nudity. First, she showed under-boob, that gateway to further nekkidness, in a magazine editorial.
She walked in the Victoria’s Secret show. She also shot a beauty story for Allure containing some implied topless photos. She did the Christian Dior show and became the face of the brand.
And now, finally, Vogue: a 14-page editorial in which for one shot Kloss poses completely nude, but for a pair of stilettos and a sombrero. It’s called, naturally, “Body By Kloss.”
But the feature, titled “Body by Kloss,” seems crazy. The 5’11″ tall model looks like an alien with her long muscle legs, tiny torso, thin arms, wide eyes and sharp cheekbones.
Today Karlie Kloss is the 3rd on the Top 50 Models Women List according to Models.com, and Vogue Paris named her as one of the top 30 models of the 21st Century.
It’s almost like she was born catwalk-ready and has already worked with such well-known designers as Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Jason Wu and Marc Jacobs.
Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani also claims Kloss as the new “Body” in modeling. Elle McPherson is the only other model to get that title. [Via ]
