Amazing Christmas Light Display Accompanies Angry Birds Tune [Video]

A fan of the festive season in Round Rock, Texas has created the first epic Angry Birds lights display of 2011.

A fan of the popular game, John Storms, has set the impressive minute long display to a cover version of the Angry Birds tune written by artist Pomplamoose, thereby, he has created of the most wonderful musical spectacles arranged by the US household.

Well, sequencing software plus thousands of lights and plenty metres of wiring let to rig any chosen song to the resplendent display.

So, the holiday light display took about 3 days to install and at least 2 hours were spent while using a special program to create the video.

John Storms’s family and friends said they thought that he had “OCD problems.” But he Storms said, “I just love Christmas lights. Gives the holiday that ahhh, factor.”

The man revealed that he had been doing displays ever since he bought his own house in 1999, but this is only his second year doing a computerized show.

This time, the lights accompany the music of the Angry Birds app, and as HLN meteorologist Bob Van Dillen points out, the 25,000 lights are just as addictive as that game. “I can’t move,” he said when watching the video. “I’m in a trance.”

John said that his mother was the inspiration due all his holiday displays. “My Mom was always into Christmas lights,” he added, “always sneaking up the decorations way too early, and it stuck.”

According to his website,, Storms wrote he had chosen the Angry Birds rune just because of his love for the novelty game.

Well, in case you would like to repeat Storms’s success here’s his “how-to” list:

Basically you have Christmas lights that are plugged into Christmas light controllers that are connected to a computer. The computer is also connected to a low-powered, hobbyist FM transmitter so people can “hear” the lights from their cars.

Each show consists of musical sequences, which are programmed by hand. Each song takes two-four hours to program.

Angry Bird has become a must-have game for those who have an android based tablet. This game is available in android which is a product from Rovio mobile.

The puzzle game challenges you to destroy structures by flinging crotchety birds at it using for it a giant slingshot. The franchise has got dozens of titles, such as Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Seasonal, but the original Angry Birds is the one to be downloaded to an Android phone first.
