George Clooney Finally Gets Married but Only in Norwegian TV Ad [Video]

Since splitting from wife Talia Balsam in 1993, actor and film director George Clooney promised to never get married again.

Since splitting from wife Talia Balsam in 1993, George Clooney promised to never get married again. Just ask Elisabetta Canalis. Which makes his random commercial for Norwegian television even that more hilarious.

The 50-year-old, who splits from Elisabetta Canalis in June this year and is now dating former wrestler Stacy Keibler, tries out life as a newly married man in a commercial for Norwegian bank DNB NOR.

DnB NOR is Norway’s largest financial services institution, and with total combined assets of about $2 trillion Norwegian kroner ($354 Billion dollars), surely it can afford to drop a few kroner on George Clooney.

DnB can also afford to hire smart and funny writers — the ad is nearly perfect in message and humor.

The amusing campaign plays on the actor’s reputation as Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor and his aversion to settling down.

The clip begins with a confused blonde waking up with a terrible hangover.

She looks down to discover a huge wedding ring finger and a disregarded white gown on the floor. Just as she begins to piece the night together, her new husband, Clooney, walks in.

“Well hey there, I was letting you sleep,” he says, putting on his full charm as she looks at a wedding dress in horror. “I like your dress. It looks better off than on.” Then he then begins searching the internet for a new home for the couple.

A magical moment for anyone who has ever dreamed of being that (hungover) bride with a big rock on her hand. The ad ends with the line: ‘Some people are lucky in life. For the rest of us, saving up can be smart’.

Mr. Clooney has told how he wants to see less of himself on the big screen. Mr. Clooney – who plays a presidential candidate in his new political thriller ‘The Ides of March‘ – told Austria’s Skip magazine: “The older I get the less I want to see myself on screen. Directing and writing are definitely more creative.”

And he said although he wants to act less he has no plans to give up movies for a full time political role. “I like to stand up for ideals I support and make my points of view clear. But you have to work so hard and satisfy so many desires when you’re in politics.”

“This makes it hard to keep supporting nothing but your ideals. Not for me, I don’t need that. Furthermore, it would force me to give up a much too beautiful house in Italy,” he explained.

Clooney’s current girlfriend, 30-year-old Stacy Keibler, is an American actress, model and former professional wrestler and valet best known for her work with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Keibler was a contestant on the second season of Dancing with the Stars, where she placed third. She has also appeared on other American Broadcasting Company (ABC) shows such as What About Brian, George Lopez, and October Road, as well as the 100th episode of the CBS sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ as a bartender and on the USA Network show Psych. In addition, she has modeled appearing in both Maxim and Stuff magazines.

She began her professional wrestling career as a part of the Nitro Girls in WCW. She quickly moved on to a more prominent role in the company as the manager Miss Hancock. As Miss Hancock, she was known for doing table dances, her relationship with David Flair, and a pregnancy angle.

After WCW was purchased by WWE, she moved to the new company, taking part in the Invasion storyline and managing the Dudley Boyz. Keibler also managed Test and Scott Steiner. Before her departure, she was affiliated with The Hurricane and Rosey and nicknamed “Super Stacy.”

Keibler is known for her unusually long legs, making her the tallest WWE Diva. She has been known as both “The Legs of WCW” and “The Legs of WWE”. During her time on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ judge Bruno Tonioli nicknamed her “The Weapon of Mass Seduction” because of her hot dancing skills and long legs. [via The Scoop]
