It’s already been a busy summer for the First Family, with jaunts to Puerto Rico, stays in South Africa, soccer on the South Lawn, sobbing babies to soothe and fists to be bumped.
Thankfully, Official White House photographer Pete Souza and the crew were there to capture it all while the Obamas got down to business.
Check out the best of the best below, accompanied by Souza’s words, and tell us which snapshot you prefer in the comments below.
From a strictly photographic standpoint, most of the pictures are nothing short of spectacular. Pete Souza has an amazing talent for capturing moments in a moving and creative ways.
As we browsed through the White House photostream, one thing really jumped out at us: Every single photo is designed to show a candid behind-the-scenes moment.
We viewed a lot of photos, and not one of them shows Obama posed, behind a podium, or in any other openly scripted moment.
This is obviously intended to give voters a voyeuristic thrill, like many of the the online videos Team Obama produced during and after the campaign. [Photos via The White House/Flickr; Story via The Huffington Post]
