Petra Ecclestone Buys The Most Expensive Home in the US

Petra Ecclestone, 22-year-old fashion designer, daughter of billionaire Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, has bid for the 57,000ft French chateau-style mansion at Los Angeles.

A luxurious 56,500-square-feet mansion has been sold at the price of $150 million.

Petra’s daddy has already gifted her a £56m house in Chelsea. But a young girl with the world at her feet considers that one extravagant home  isn’t enough.

Which is why Petra, or rather her father, has paid reportedly £91m for the most expensive house in the USA, reports This Is Money.

Сertainly buying the manor will do little to dent the financial resources of 80-year-old Mr Ecclestone, who has made a £2.4bn fortune from motor racing.

The Manor was built in the 1980s by the late TV producer Aaron Spelling and locates in the exclusive Holmby Hills ares of Los Angeles. It was constructed in the style of a French chateau.

The house accomodates over a 100 rooms, including 14 bedrooms, a flower-cutting room, a barbershop, a wine tasting area, many gift-wrapping rooms,  screening room with a huge home cinema, specially built doll museum and a spectacular dining room and a huge entrance lobby with chandeliers, a silver storage room that allows for humidity control, a tennis court, a citrus orchard, a swimming pool, and the “Prince Charles suite”, along with room to park a 100 cars and other sophistications.

Its main feature is a double staircase inspired by one  in the film Gone with the Wind. Spelling’s widow Candy, who is selling the property says: “When I saw Scarlett (O’Hara) coming down those stairs that is what I wanted.” Outside there is an imposing circular driveway surrounds a huge fountain.

Petra, the former pupil of Francis Holland Girls’ School in London, started her own menswear label at the age of 19 but it went into administration 14 months later.

She has since reportedly signed a contract with Croatian clothing firm Siscia. With her new-found dedication to the world of employment, she has recently said that “it’s about time people stop thinking I’m a spoilt brat who shops all the time”.

However, her latest house purchase, will do little to dispel the gilded image that surrounds her and her 26-year-old sister Tamara, according to the The Telegraph.

The highest known price paid for a family home in the US so far is $100 million (£61 million) by Russian entrepreneur Yuri Milner, who purchased a property in Silicon Valley earlier this year.

But the sale of this house would topple the Yuri Milner’s Silicon Valley house from the position of being the most expensive family home in the US.

Miss Ecclestone will move into her US mansion after her wedding to her long time boyfriend entrepreneur James Stunt in August, says Вusiness Insider.

Her new luxurious house would be on the doorstep of Hollywood and close to the fashion shopping mecca of Rodeo Drive.
