After words spread that Hugh Hefner’s wedding to Crystal Harris has been called off just five days before the ceremony, Hugh Hefner is showered with encouragement from some of his exes. Bridget Marquardt, Kendra Wilkinson and Holly Madison are among those offering some support to the Playboy magazine founder.
Holly Madison, one of Hefner’s former girlfriends, expressed concern early on in the engagement that the couple was moving too fast and that Harris could potentially hurt Hefner. “I think it’s possible Crystal could break Hef’s heart. They could end up divorcing, and she could take half his money,” Madison said.
Hefner and Harris began dating in January 2009 and became engaged around Christmas. Crystal went into details about how she would like to organize the ceremony , noting that her best friend and her sisters were on board to be her bridesmaids.
“It’s going to be fun,” she said. The Playboy Playmate was slated to wear a pink wedding gown when she walked down the aisle in the backyard of the Playboy Mansion and the nuptials were to be a colorful affair, but not a “garden party.” About 300 people were invited.
There is no information what exactly has happened in the relationships of a young couple. Some sources report that The breakup was sparked when the couple had what must have been a rather explosive argument at the Playboy Mansion. In any case, the fight allegedly took place over the phone—what caused it remains unknown—and resulted in the 25-year-old Harris abruptly packing up and moving out of the house.
Harris herself explained on her site: “After much deep reflection and thought I have decided to end my engagement with Hef. I have the utmost respect for Hef and wish him the best going forward. I hope the media will give each of us the privacy we deserve during this time.”
Harris wasn’t silent on Twitter either, but she focused her words on promoting a new single ‘Club Queen.’ On Monday, after she left him, Hefner helped his fiancee promote her music career with another tweet to his 638,000 followers, according to the TMZ source.
Harris lampooned the 60-year age gap with Hefner in a Funny or Die video. She promotes the ‘The Playboy App’ for smartphones that will make you “knowledgeable about things older people are interested in, which is helpful when you’re dating Hugh Hefner.” She sent a link to the video to her 175,000 Twitter followers.
