If you ever wanted to know how pretty Pippa stays in shape, she’s revealed it’s all thanks to one particular exercise class. Pippa Middleton, younger sister of Kate Middleton now the Duchess of Cambridge, has revealed that pilates is the key to that figure which has attracted worldwide attention.
Ms Middleton disclosed that weekly pilates sessions at a Parson’s Green fitness centre near her home in West London are what keeps her in shape. Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates in Germany with over 11 million people practicing the discipline regularly.
Pilates called his method Contrology because he believed that his method uses the mind to control the muscles. It is a body conditioning routine that helps to not only build flexibility, but also strength, endurance, and coordination in the legs, abdominals, arms and back.
According to Health24, Pilates combines awareness of the spine, proper breathing and strength and flexible training. The result is a skill-based conditioning technique that feels great to do and continually challenges people of all levels of movement ability.
The UK’s Daily Mail quotes Ms Middleton testimonial on the Pilates On The Go website: “As someone who is always ‘on the go’, Pilates has been a wonderful escape from my busy lifestyle in London.”
“Whether it’s 7am in the morning or 7pm at night I always leave feeling calm, refreshed and invigorated. Over the past few months I have noticed a huge difference in my core strength and posture and couldn’t recommend Margot more highly as an instructor.”
“From breathing techniques, muscle toning to overall flexibility and relaxation, my Pilates sessions have become something of a weekly necessity that keeps me fit, happy and energized.”
Besides Pilates, party planner Pippa also leads a sporty lifestyle and nabbed her place at the exclusive Marlborough College on a sports scholarship. Pippa’s figure – and her bottom in particular – became the hottest topic of the Wills and Kate’s nuptials last month.
Her figure-hugging white dress, designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, almost stole the limelight from Kate’s bridal gown, while her shapely rear soon got its own Facebook appreciation group.
Miss Middleton works for her parents’ company, Party Pieces. She attended the boarding school Marlborough College before going to Edinburgh University.
Meanwhile, British plastic surgeons have reported a 60 per cent rise in bum-lifting procedures since the Royal Wedding. Women wanting a derriere like 27-year-old Miss Middleton’s have been flooding surgeons with requests.
The procedure, which can cost up to $15,000, has even been given a name, “The Pip Package Perfect Posterior.” Lesley Khan of London’s Harley Street Skin Clinic told the Daily Star: “We are now seeing scores of female clients seeking the perfect bottom.”
“A few years back everyone wanted the Jennifer Lopez look but now everyone asks for a bottom like Pippa’s – curvy but not too peachy,” he said. [via The Telegraph (UK), Yahoo! Newsand Daily Mail (UK)]
