So you really want to be a show jumper, but you don’t have a horse to jump with you. What do you do? How about a cow? It might sound ridiculous, but that’s exactly what 15-year-old Regina from Bavaria in Germany did! Check the video above from the AP’s Youtube channel.
The teenager decided to pursue her show jumping hobby despite her family not being able to afford a horse. Her show jumping cow’s named Luna – another word for moon. We wonder if she’s heard the one about the cow that jumped over the moon?
Hours of training have left Luna able to jump makeshift hurdles of beer crates and logs. “She thinks she’s a horse,” said Regina, who lives in Laufen, southern Germany. The pair began with gentle walks in the woods before Regina introduced Luna to a saddle.
A few months later, Regina hopped on her back for the first of many rides. Now they spend most afternoons together when the teen comes home from school. Luna has milked the relationship for all it is worth – in return for showjumping and galloping exercises, she is rewarded with regular grooming and treats. [via The Telegraph (UK) and Sky News]
