Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Replaces Megan Fox In Transformers 3

Last week we reported that Michael Bay had found his top choice to replace Megan Fox in Transformers 3 in a Victoria’s Secret model, unknown to the film industry. And now multiple sources confirm that Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will star as Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in the upcoming Transformers 3.

The 23-year-old Victoria’s Secret model, dubbed Elle Magazine’s 2009 “Model of the Year,” is a newcomer to acting — but not to “Transformers” director Michael Bay, who directed his latest starlet in a commercial for the lingerie line last year.

Note: Michael Bay has worked with Victoria’s Secret ad campaigns, and could have a good working relationship with Rosie.

Her only IMDB credits are four instances of The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and one episode of Britain’s Next Top Model, on which she was not a contestant.

Although Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has no acting experience but in the grand scheme of things, even if she did, it likely won’t change the quality of the overall product of Transformers 3.

At least Bay is helping launch her career like he did with Megan Fox.

Rosie will play a new character opposite Shia LaBeouf’s character, Sam Witwicky, in the summer 2011 sequel.

The British bombshell was among a number of women rumored to be in line for the role, which also included Gemma Arterton, Ashley Greene and fellow model Brooklyn Decker.

According to DeadLine.com, Bay chose Shia LaBeouf’s new love interest with less than a week to spare. The filmmaker only had a week left to decide on who would take the place of Fox, the actress who was reportedly fired because she lost too much weight.

Fox claimed it was her decision to quit the franchise, but tabloids cited her recent comparisons of Bay to Hitler as another possible reason for her departure.

Her spokesman said: “She will not be starring in Transformers 3. It was her decision.”

But what is Michael Bay really trying to say with this choice?! Is it a big middle finger to the apparently easily replaceable Megan Fox? Or is it just Bay bragging about how he can make a star out of anyone, but only for so long as they stay under his wing?! (note: Do you remember movie “Jennifer’s Body” – latest Fox’s non-Bay effort?!)

“The Hills” star Heidi Montag even made aplay for the role, Tweeting messages to Michael Bay and posting a video of herself at a shooting range to try and show off her action skills. However, her Transformers 3 audition tape was not successful (see the funny video here.)

Director Michael Bay and writer Ehren Kruger are finalizing the script and production began on May 17th and the movie is set for release on July 1, 2011. The first scenes to be shot for the lead female role begin in about two weeks, leaving very little time for Rosie to prepare for her first acting gig.
