The Academy Award winning actress shocked all of Hollywood by revealing she has an adopted son, three and a half months old Louis Bardo, whom she brought home just weeks prior to the breakdown of her marriage, the Daily Mail reports.

She is pictured with the child, who was born in New Orleans, on the cover of the latest issue of People magazine.

“He’s just perfect, I can’t even describe him any other way. It’s like he’s always been a part of our lives,” said Sandra Bullock, who interestingly won the coveted Oscar trophy for her portrayal of a foster mother who adopts an African American teenager in ‘The Blind Side’.

Speaking of her decision to seek divorce from her husband who allegedly cheated on her with many women, Sandra confirmed she has filed for divorce from Jesse James. “I’m sad and I am scared, ” she added.

Bullock, 45, and husband Jesse James, 41, began the adoption process four years ago and brought Louis home in January but decided to keep the news to themselves until after the Academy Awards, which saw her named best actress for The Blind Side.

In the film, which is based on a true story, Bullock plays a Southern women who adopts a homeless African-American boy who goes on to become a football star.

Their close friends and family – including James’s children Sunny, 6, Jesse Jr., 12, and Chandler, 15 – were essential in keeping the adoption a secret, reports People Magazine.

However, only 10 days after the star’s triumph at the March 7 ceremony, tattoo model Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee went public with claims she had an 11-month affair with Sandra Bullock’s husband.

When she was asked about whether James had cheated, Bullock said she ‘had no idea about anything.’

“I did the only thing I could do, and that was to pack enough clothes to live on, get all of Louis’ things and get out of town. My main concern was Louis, ” said the actress.

Despite her heartache, she is revelling in caring for the new addition: “He’s just perfect, I can’t even describe him any other way. All I said when I met him was ‘Oh, there you are’. It was like he had always been a part of our lives.”

The baby is named after jazz great Louis Armstrong, famous for the song, ‘What A Wonderful World.’

She said her life now involved waking up, feeding the baby, burping him, playing with him and doing the laundry, adding: “I’m just amazed with him and at life.”

Bullock said of the subterfuge involved in keeping Louis secret: “People that I had worked with for years couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t let them into my house for [Oscar ceremony gown] fittings.”

After James’ affair allegations emerged – and more claims of infidelities surfaced – the motorcycle mogul apologised, conceding he had shown ‘poor judgement’.

He subsequently checked into a treatment facility to address ‘personal issues’. He was spotted near his Huntington Beach home without his wedding ring on Monday after completing a 30-day rehab stint.

When Sandra was asked about whether James will have any formal parenting role in Louis’ life, she said: “I will be adopting as a single parent. Anything else will be taken day by day.”

She said of her relationship with Jesse’s three children Sunny, 6, Jesse Jr., 12, and Chandler, 15: “I don’t want to know what life is like without those kids. Whatever we need to do, in the healthiest way, we are going to be co-parenting.”

Jesse James – who was previously married to a former porn star, Janine Lindemulder – told the magazine: “The decision to let my wife end our marriage, and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest. The love I have for Louis cannot be put to words. Not having him around to love and to hold has left a huge hole in my heart.” [People via Daily Mail (UK)]
