French automaker Citroen has just unveiled the latest details of a new brand concept car, the GQbyCitroen, designed for the compact sports car segment. The latest concept was developed in partnership with the fashion experts GQ magazine and has been designed to provide “the ultimate gentleman’s drive”.
Responding to a brief by GQ’s editor, Dylan Jones, Citroen’s team, headed by British designer – and the man responsible for the new Citroen DS3 – Mark Lloyd, took a new look at the GT theme and integrated it with a typical Citroen design approach bringing the GQbyCitroen from design outline to concept reality.
The GQbyCitroen is defined by a contemporary and sophisticated design featuring a carved front and a muscular side with the rear characterized by a particularly elegant concave rear window. The interior is signed by Patrick Grant, the artistic director of the Haus E. Tautz. It is spacious, comfortable and most importantly – as far as concepts are concerned – defined by futuristic lines.
Under the hood there is an advanced plug-in hybrid drivetrain consisting of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with direct injection technology. The GQbyCitroen can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
The GQbyCitroen will make its world debut at a special event in London this week. [via MotorAuthority]
