Reuters reports that Chrysler is preparing to issue a recall of 24,177 vehicles due to faulty brakes. The company has filed paperwork with the NHTSA and the recall is expected to begin this month.

Vehicles affected include 2010 Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Avenger, Dodge Nitro, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 2009-2010 Dodge Ram trucks. The vehicles suffer from a defect in the clip retention tab for the brake pedal pin that can lead to brake failure.

Chrysler also stated that it isn’t aware of any accidents or injuries caused by the issue. [via Reuters]
