Nowadays Vodaphone is one of the world’s leading mobile telecommunications companies with activities around the globe, that is why Vodaphone has built an architectural wonder as its corporate headquartersis located on Avenida da Boavista in Porto, Portugal.
A brilliant example of architecture in motion, the Vodaphone Building exhibits a kind of movement that is an ideal representation of the Vodaphone’s slogan of “Vodafone Life, Life in Motion“. Designed by architects José António Barbosa and Pedro Guimarães of Barbosa Guimarães Arquitectos, this skeletal structure seems to tumble upon itself, a sculptural monument to a keen architectural vision and a playful sense of wonder.
Three of the angular building’s eight floors are underground. The cross-section reveals an uneven footprint almost as if the entire structure had fallen from sky at a great speed and crashed itself into the earth where it now sits, only partly exposed and slightly disheveled.
