If you have an unlimited budget why not to go to east and try to buy a private haven at Japan? The Local Finance Bureau at Chugoku has decided to auction the government-owned and uninhabited island of Mitsuko located in the Seto Inland Sea, which lies around a kilometer off the coast of Hiroshima Prefecture.

This competitive auction is the first of its kind. The sale will include all unused assets and the tender bids for the island will start in February 2010. The island is made of two islands on the southwest of the city of Kure. The northern island is up for sale and has around 7,600 square meters of real estate area. [via Mainichi]
