Those who buying the $7,500 McIntosh MXA60 will have to find only one type of motivation: the motivation of high-end, audiophile equipment. Despite the fact that we’ll never be able to afford to stare into the mezmorizing, soft-blue eyes of the MXA60 while listening to it, we’re excited about the release. Sure to sound light years better than your average audio package system, the MXA60 is McIntosh’s first standalone integrated audio system. It’s being launched in recognition of McIntosh’s 60th anniversary.

Based around a vacuum tube preamp, the MXA60 packs a 75-watt-per-channel amplifier, CD/SACD/MP3 player, AM/FM/RBDS tuner and two-way bass reflex speakers into a gorgeous tabletop system. If the price hasn’t been shocked you,  you’ll be happy to note that it’s available now. [via CrunchGear]
