Now Barnes & Noble says that preorders of its stylish new Nook e-reader have exceeded expectations, and that the company has sold out of its initial supply of devices. Those that now order Nook can expect to have it just in time for… the week of January 4. To prevent Nook givers from having nothing to wrap up and place under the tree, B&N is offering some form of Nook holiday certificate – kind of like when your parents gave you a picture of the bike they were planning on buying you for your birthday sometime in the future.
