British singer Leona Lewis will soon find herself following in the footsteps of award winning artist, Celine Dion. Dion gained massive success after she performed the theme song to the romantic drama Titanic back in 1997. According to BBC, the same fortune may be in the future for Lewis, because she’s been tapped to perform the theme to James Cameron’s latest movie Avatar.
Miss Lewis will have the same advantages as Celine Dion had 14 years ago when she took on the singing job from Cameron. The producers of the record breaking Titanic ballad, “My Heart Will Go On,” James Horner and Simon Franglen will also work on the Avatar song with Lewis. The hype of around Avatar is gaining more momentum as it reaches it’s opening next month, December 18th. If this film earns commercial success anywhere near its predecessor, Lewis’ career could receive a huge success. [via BBC]
