Despite looking like a snake’s skin, Ferrari has fetched a killing for its special edition of 599 model. Sold to an anonymous Shanghai bidder at a dinner at Beijing’s Red Gate Gallery, the Ferrari 599 China brought in 1.2 million Euros ($1.77 M). The proceeds will go to fund the studies of students at Tsinghua University’s Department of Automotive Engineering, bringing them to Italy to intern at Ferrari and study at Politecnico di Milano University. Apparently the design that many would find a questionable waste of Ferrari is exactly what sparked interest in the 599 China . [via EgmCarTech]
