When it’s not entering the third dimension, Acer likes to get all touchy-feely with its Aspire 1420p tablet. The new Aspire 1420p is a tablet that lets you use it as either a traditional clamshell or a solid touch block. The 11.6-inch HD display supports both finger touch and pen input, and Acer adds some software to the mix, such as TouchPortal for drag-and-drop multimedia playback and TouchMemo for creating colorful reminders. And don’t you just love the idea of surfing the net with a finger?!

Aside from the touch screen, Acer’s Aspire 1420p shares traits with the recent surge of ultraportable computers. It’s got an Intel Celeron processor with integrated graphics, up to 8 GB of RAM, 320 GB hard drive, wireless b/g/n, Bluetooth, a Web cam, a multi-card reader and optional 3G. Acer claim’s you’ll get 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. Dimensions are 11.22 x 8.22 x 1.12/1.36 inches. The retail price is a mystery. [Acer via Engadget]
