If you look at figures comparing crime in Austria and crime in the U.S. you’ll notice something important: although the U.S. has higher crime rates in virtually every category (murder, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault and etc) the Austrians triumph only in one category: Burglary. Why? Why is the rate of burglaries in Austria on 40% higher than in the U.S.? I’ll tell you why: because Austrian minimum security prisons are something awesome!
The building of Justice Center Leoben looks like an Apple Store, isn’t it?! But actually it’s a 5-star prison in Styria, Austria. The building is made of beautiful glass and stainless steel. Inside the prison, many facilities are provided to the prisoners such as indoor soccer, modern gym, and of course stylish cells.
