While the rumors of an Apple Tablet release are nothing new, analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray is shedding some more light onto the details of a new Apple Tablet. In a report based on some contacts with an Asian component supplier working with Apple, Munster provides some details on the device that is expected to launch next year. Firstly, the Apple tablet will be a larger 7 to 10-inch iPod Touch aimed at Web surfing, email and digital media; it will find a niche right between the MacBook and iPhone with a cost in the $500 to $700 range; and it will be subsidized by a major carrier like AT&T or Verizon and include a 3G modem–nothing too groundbreaking, but a little more credence to the speculation. Munster went on to estimate that at a $600 price point the tablet will sell two million units and bring in $1.2 billion for Apple. [via Wired]
