Adobe Inc. must feel exposed bringing its Acrobat.com Web tools out of beta, because it’s covering some of them up with a pay wall. The Create PDF and ConnectNow applications will require paid subscriptions, an especially silly move for the former because it’s easy to find free PDF creators on the Web. It’s suggested that these cloud apps will compete with Google docs, but there’s not a lot of overlap aside from the Buzzword word processor. And personally, the only thing I’m intrigued by here is ConnectNow, but is it worth paying for?
