See New Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI

Today I would like to introduce a new R8 V10 5.2 FSI. The Audi R8 V10 is built from the knowledge and experience of its participations and victories in the Le Mans races. The all-new Audi R8 is powered by a 5.2-liter (5,204 cc), ten-cylinder engine that produces 525 hp (386 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 530 Nm (390.91 lb-ft) of torque at 6,500 rpm, almost identical to the racing version.

Today I would like to introduce a new R8 V10 5.2 FSI. The Audi R8 V10 is built from the knowledge and experience of its participations and victories in the Le Mans races. The all-new Audi R8 is powered by a 5.2-liter (5,204 cc), ten-cylinder engine that produces 525 hp (386 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 530 Nm (390.91 lb-ft) of torque at 6,500 rpm, almost identical to the racing version.

The Audi R8 V10 with the 6-speed manual gearshifts weights at 1,620 kg (3,571 lb) thus the specific power output is 100.9 hp per liter of displacement where each hp has to drive only 3.09 kg (6.91 lb) of weight. The engine contribute for 258 kg (569 lb) of the car’s overall weight, 31 kg (68 lb) more than the V8.

The Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI quattro accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. As for the sequential shifting R tronic, the R8 reaches 200 km/h in 8.1 seconds. The R8 V10 could reach the top speed of 316 km/h (196.35 mph). The fuel consumption is at 13.7 liters per 100 km (17.17 mpg).

The V10 5.2-liter engine uses dry sump lubrication which allows the engine to be mounted low within the chassis. The low center of gravity could also achieve from the wide cylinder angle of 90 degrees. The crankcase is made of high-strength aluminum-alloy casting, the connecting rods of forged steel, the pistons of aluminum. The four camshafts are chain-driven and each is adjustable through 42 degrees to provide great latitude in controlling the valve timing.

The Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro comes with a 6-speed transmission as standard while the sequential R tronic is available as an option. Both the manual and R tronic versions comes with a Launch Control program where with a push of a button, the R8 V10 launches rapidly with electronically controlled tire slip.

The mid-engine design of the R8 V10 provides an ideal axle load distribution of 44 to 56 %. The supercar stands on 19-inch 10-spoke Y design wheels wrapped with tire sizes of 235/35 at the front and 295/30 at the rear.

The braking system consists of ventilated 380 mm discs, 8 brake pistons at the front and ventilated 356 mm, 4 pistons at the rear. An optional ceramic brake system whose disks made of composite material containing high-strength carbon fibers and abrasion-resistant silicon carbide which is 9 kg lighter than the steel disks is available.

At the exterior, the Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI Quattro features vertical air scoops (sideblades) on the sides, massive aluminum gas cap, high-gloss black front air inlets and front lip, chrome front grille vanes, LEDs for the high beam, low beam, daytime running lights and turn signals, wider side sills, matt aluminum look exhaust grilles, LED tail lights, two cross-braces air outlets, two large oval tailpipes and a rear spoiler that deploys automatically at 100 km/h.

The body of the Audi R8 V10 is made of Audi Space Frame (ASF) and high-tech aluminum construction. The white body and the engine frame are made of ultra-light magnesium weighing at only 210 kg (463 lb) held together by 99 m (325 ft) of welding seams, 782 rivets and 308 screws.

Inside, the R8 V10 features monoposto, a wide arc that contains the steering wheel and the cockpit. Available are leathers in a wide range of colors, packages with carbon and piano-lacquer finish or a made-to-measure luggage set.

The interior is also spacious thanks to its long wheelbase of 2.65 m (8.69 ft). The luggage space is at 100 liters (3.53 cu ft) fit under the front hood and another 90 liters (3.18 cu ft) behind the seats with also room for 2 golf bags.

Other features include heatable seat covers made of Fine Nappa leather, a driver information system, the navigation system plus and the Bang & Olufsen sound system along with deluxe automatic air conditioning and an alarm system, deluxe automatic air conditioning, an alarm system, instruments and the gearshift decorated with red rings, aluminum finished footrests and rocker switches.

Optional are Audi parking system with integrated rear view camera or other Audi exclusive customization options, various leather packages and Audi bucket seats.

The Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro now available in Germany at a basic price of EUR 142,400. If I have this money i firstly rent this car for a day and only after this buy it.
